Today we spent some time working with words. We reviewed 'word families' (rhyming words) such as an, at, it, etc. using word blocks to make word family towers and then wrote the words down in their families. We also, worked on making silly sentences using the word puzzle pieces. The students made sure they had a capital letter at the beginning of their sentence and a period at the end. They were able to be creative with the words in between! (One student wrote: A green apple fell on a bird.) We practised spelling our word wall words using letter tiles, wooden letters, alphabet magnets and transparent letters to build our words.
