In Math, we have been learning to tell time to the nearest hour. The students learned about the hour hand and minute hand and faces of clocks. We learned about digital clocks and analog clocks too and how to read the time to the nearest hour. Take a look at some photos of our class working on telling time activities. Next, we will be learning about telling time to the nearest half hour!

This week our class filled our Gem Jar again! We did a great job working as a team to be kind, use our listening ears and follow our classroom rules. On Friday we decided to have technology time for our reward! This week we read the book "How many seeds in a pumpkin?" by Margaret McNamara and Brian Karas. The students completed a pumpkin booklet where they used words to describe their pumpkins, drew what their pumpkin looked like on the outside and inside, estimated how many pumpkin seeds were in their pumpkin and then counted their seeds to see how many seeds were actually in their pumpkins. Then we decided to group our pumpkin seeds into groups of 2's, 5's and 10's to see which way was easier/faster to count by. Take a look at our photos below:
These beautiful, glowing pumpkins have a lot going on: drawing from observations and sequence, primary colour mixing, adding highlights, cutting and pasting skills and composition.
