This week our focus in Math has been recognizing and forming numbers. The students have been learning to print and form numbers using various materials such as play dough, salt trays, white boards, fingers in the air, etc. We even learned a few rhymes to help us remember how to make the numbers when printing them! The students focused on the numbers from 0 to 10 for this activity but a few students had some clever ideas to make more numbers. After the students completed the number 10, Nathan showed us that he could add a 0 to it to make 100! That turned into a class discussion about how we can make larger numbers. Nikolas was quick to tell us that is we add another 0 to 100 then we would have 1000! Alex added that if we change the 1 in 1000 to a 2 it would become 2000! Here are a few photos to show our learning.
