This week we read the book "How many seeds in a pumpkin?" by Margaret McNamara and Brian Karas. The students completed a pumpkin booklet where they used words to describe their pumpkins, drew what their pumpkin looked like on the outside and inside, estimated how many pumpkin seeds were in their pumpkin and then counted their seeds to see how many seeds were actually in their pumpkins. Then we decided to group our pumpkin seeds into groups of 2's, 5's and 10's to see which way was easier/faster to count by. Take a look at our photos below:
