Our Advent seasons begins today! Our theme for Advent again this year is "Christmas Hampers for Families". We at St. James School have chosen to support families in a less privileged school in our school board with the gift of food hampers. Students will bring home a note this week with a food item that they are requested to bring in for our class hamper. Thanks for your continued generosity and support with this initiative.

Thank you for sending your children well dressed for the colder snowy weather. Please consider sending in a few pairs of socks and an extra pair of mittens in your child's backpack. It seems our yard ends up with wet melting snow that leads to wet feet and hands in their boots and mittens!
Picture re-takes will be on Nov. 15. If you wish for your child to have their photo`s re-taken please write a note in your child`s agenda and send back their previous photo package.
This week students are invited to purchase a poppy to wear to our Remembrance Day Service on Friday, Nov. 11th. (A donation of a loonie is requested.)
Our Remembrance Day Service will take place on Friday, Nov. 11th at 11:00am in the gym. Students are asked to wear Red or their Brownie/Scout uniforms. Parents and Family are welcome to attend. Your child's monthly math game went home on Friday. The math game/activity are yours to keep. If you see your child struggling in any part of the game/activity, please send me a note so that I can contact you to discuss a possible strategy to use when supporting your child's learning at home. The games/activities are designed to challenge and practice concepts we are working on. A reminder that all math games/activities can stay at home with your child. These are designed for you to use again and again or create a similar activity to practice these skills.
Progress Reports went home Tuesday, Nov. 1, 2016. Parent Teacher Conferences are scheduled for Wednesday, Nov. 9th. I am looking forward to meeting with you all!
